The international of The Last of Us takes numerous steps to stand out amidst the well-worn-out zombie apocalypse style. But for all of its exceptional qualities, it nonetheless follows some of the most acquainted zombie tropes.
Take the Cordyceps, for instance. This fungal virus differs from a zombie virus in that it keeps its host alive while it turns them into monsters. But in familiar style, it is in all places should you get bitten.

Based on the critically-acclaimed PlayStation recreation, The Last of Us follows Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal) and teenager Ellie (Bella Ramsey) as they trip across the post-apocalyptic United States ravaged for many years by means of the Cordyceps. In Episode 5, entitled "Endure and Survive", Joel and Ellie come across Henry (Lamar Johnson) and his Deaf more youthful brother Sam, as they try to escape a heavily-armed resistance team that has taken over Kansas City. Resistance leader Kathleen is on the warpath to seek out Henry, who up to now ratted out the former resistance leader to FEDRA officers in order to obtain medication for Sam.
Working along side Joel and Ellie, they are attempting to flee the town thru underground tunnels.

The crash causes a huge gasoline explosion, weakening the foundation below it and making a hole. From there, a large horde of infected surges outward, together with a large Bloater, and assaults all of the people in the immediate neighborhood.

It's here that Sam has his tragic coincidence. While he isn't actually shown getting bitten, he's observed hiding underneath a automobile beside Henry, trying to kick off an inflamed that is grasping him through the legs. With Joel's help, the workforce manages to escape the horde, with Kathleen being attacked and bitten through an inflamed in the process.
Later, Joel and co. take refuge in an outdated motel. Here, Sam reveals to Ellie that he was bitten on the leg, possibly after they have been pinned down beneath the automotive.
Ellie tries to convenience Sam in his time of want, attempting to use her immunity to the virus to check out and heal him. Unfortunately, the infection takes cling via the early morning. Henry is forced to kill Sam earlier than he can hurt Ellie, and the next guilt from killing his personal brother compels Henry to kill himself as effectively.
