Looking for a brand new TV show to binge-watch? Netflix subscribers are in success! On March 1, the streaming carrier dropped the first season of Northern Rescue, a Canadian drama that’s already evolved a cult following.

The collection, which is additionally available on the Canadian streaming platform CBC Gem, follows search and rescue commander John West as he and his three kids relocate to his rural place of origin of Turtle Bay Island following the surprising loss of life of his spouse. Naturally, the grieving family struggles to adjust to their new environment.

The beautifully-shot display movies in Parry Sound, a old fashioned town in Ontario, Canada. With a inhabitants of roughly 6,408 folks, the scenic atmosphere stands in for Northern Rescue’s fictional the city of Turtle Bay Island.

Though it looks like the perfect place to shoot a series, issues weren’t at all times idyllic on set. According to The Hamilton Spectator, a large wildfire to the north of Parry Sound kept the solid and staff on their ft while they have been filming ultimate summer season.

"A few of the crew had visited Parry Sound (prior to production moving there) and they said, 'you know it has a bit of a coastal charm," he explained. "It’s not the same as the Maritimes but it has the Island Queen (ship) and there’s tons of water everywhere you look and there is this trestle bridge.' Everyone started falling more and more in love with the area. It kind of looked exactly what we imagined in our mind."

Northern Rescue Cast:

William (aka Billy) Baldwin stars as John, and he's joined by means of Amalia Williamson, Spencer Macpherson, and Taylor Thorne, who play his 3 kids. Kathleen Robertson, who portrays John’s sister-in-law Charlie Anders, rounds out the main solid.

In an interview with TV Insider, Billy gave some perception into his persona. "In the show, I lose my wife and it’s like losing your arm. All of a sudden, you’re responsible for all of these duties and you’re wearing all the hats now."

He added, "[The series] lends itself to some real powerful drama, but a lot of humor and hijinks, as well."

Northern Rescue Soundtrack:

One of the things fans love most about Northern Rescue is the soundtrack. Music supervisors David Hayman and Samantha McNeilly did a very good activity of curating a top-notch tracklist that elevates the display.

The theme track particularly is getting a lot of buzz. Called "Family," the catchy music used to be first recorded via the Canadian rock band Mother Mother for his or her 2017 album "No Culture."

The numerous soundtrack also contains songs by way of Yoke Lore, Favours, Ricky Coyne, and Boyhood, amongst others.

Will Northern Rescue go back for Season 2?

We don’t know but whether the freshman drama gets picked up for any other season, but we’d say it’s a secure guess in line with fan response alone. 

"Never thought Billy Baldwin could break my heart yet here we are," one viewer wrote on Twitter. “Why do I like this show such a lot and why did I binge it all in a weekend? When is Season 2?! I need more.”

Another added in all caps, "I NEED ANOTHER SEASON OF NORTHERN RESCUE BECAUSE THIS CLIFF HANGER S--T GETS ON MY NERVES."
